With Passover starting this week, it’s easy to see all news through an Exodus story lens. When the toxicity becomes unbearable, we tell the oppressor we’re out of here.
These days, I’m dreaming of a way to experience gratitude, Dayenu, and also to recognize when it’s time to cut ties and start anew. More than anything, though, for me the story of Pesach is one of shared liberation that requires naming the oppressor and finding our community in exile. I’m envisioning though, not a physical exile, but sometimes a state of mind, and a place of peace. And from that space a coalition of smart, caring, committed people who can agitate for change and get out the damn vote for Democratic candidates.
